Whoa, I haven't posted here since February. Oops.
Let's see, since then, I don't think I've read a single book, and I scrapped my old novel in exchange for some new ones. I like the new characters a lot better, as well as the new story. So that's good.
Also, to those in the community already, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO POST, TOO. I'll try to post writing prompts weekly for those of us whose brains fuzz out every now and then, and other things, too, I guess. It's not like there are RULES here. Post what you want; it could help someone, even if it is just random crap.
Writing prompts should be expected on Wednesdays, so that means there's one TODAY.
Take a topic of some interest to you, one you can write about, and indulge in it in only 55 words. Post them here, and don't forget, if you have writer friends, refer them here!
Some topics to consider:

Er, yeah. I was just coming up with random words. Feel free to add more if you'd like.

BIG MOUTH & Ugly Girl
OH MY GOD
I don't like "young adult" books in general. Most books about growing up, and teenagers making it through high school make me want to punch the author. But "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl" is by far one of the most amazing books I have ever read.
(CAUTION: I tried, but some people may consider my synopsis a spoiler. JUST IN CASE.)
First off, it's unique. Most teen books are NOT about the fruit loops and the kids involved in major stuff, at least not the innocent ones. Okay, so a lot of them are
about the weird kids. But not in this sense. It's written in two tenses: one is first person, by Ursula, who has a sort of mask, if you will, that she calls Ugly Girl. Ursula is shy and scared. Ugly Girl is confident in herself and rather strong. The other is third person, written (sort of) from Matt's perspective. Matt is a Big Mouth, who decided, just to get some laughs, to mock shooting people. In sarcasm, he said something about blowing up the school. Next thing you know, there's an investigation, and hatred, and the once-liked Matt is now avoided like the plague by those he considered friends. Ugly Girl, however, sticks up for him, and so starts the story of Big Mouth and Ugly Girl. If you want a good, interestingly told story of two outcasts who simply don't care, pick it up. That's "Big Mouth and Ugly Girl" by Joyce Carol Oates. This book ranks with some of my favorite books, which are few and far between. The only other of its rank is "Jinx" by Margaret Wild, which I won't go into here. Just read it. You'll feel better. Current Mood: AMAZED

Too many stories in my head, but not enough members of this community. How saddening.
I thought I'd complain about the many stories floating around in my brain. I love them all, and they all hold a special something that I love, but I simply can't write some of them. Autonomous Skies,
for example, had a boring story and equally boring characters. My webcomic, the Lapse, had absolutely no purpose or plot to speak of. A Tainted Heart,
one of the first novels I tries to write, had too many characters and also had no plot. Unlikely
, the sequel to Autonomous Skies
, is mostly on hold because of Forever
, my newest novel. I still love Unlikely
, because it has a fun story and entertaining characters. Forever
has a cool plot. I wish I could open a tap in my brain and let it spew onto my paper. It would make life much easier, and get the stories out. What a nice thing that would be. :D

Hello, and welcome to Authors Abound. I see you've navigated your way through LJ, and found me sitting here, waiting for SOMEONE other than myself to join. So, sit down, talk a while, maybe even join the ranks. I'm sure no one would mind. Personally, I'd be delighted. Until next time, ciao.
